Email Automation

In Pop Convert, you can set up four key types of email automation to enhance your engagement with customers and streamline your marketing efforts. Here’s a guide to each type of automation and how they work:

Popup/Smart Bar Subscription Email
This automation is triggered when a visitor subscribes through a popup or smart bar on your website. When a visitor enters their email address, an automated email is sent to them. This email is usually sent immediately or shortly after the subscription action, ensuring that subscribers receive timely communication based on their interaction with your website’s popup or smart bar.
To ensure this email is sent, you need to connect the email automation to the relevant popup or smart bar.

Welcome Email
The welcome email is automatically sent to every new contact added to Shopify. This includes contacts from various sources such as Shopify’s newsletter subscriptions or other integrated apps, not just those collected through Pop Convert. For example, if a new customer subscribes to your store’s Shopify newsletter, their information is added to Shopify’s customer list, triggering the welcome email. Additionally, you can create a series of welcome emails to further engage new contacts over time.

Abandoned Cart Email
The abandoned cart email is designed to recover potential sales by reminding customers of items they left in their cart. This way, customers can easily return to complete their purchase.

Order Confirmation Email
This email is sent automatically when a customer places an order in your shop. It confirms that their order has been received and provides details about the purchase. This email serves to reassure customers that their order is being processed and keeps them informed about their purchase status.

FAQs - Email Automation

Will emails be sent to carts that were abandoned before I activate my Cart Recovery Flow?
The Abandoned Cart email will only send email notifications to carts that have been abandoned after you activate the flow. Any abandoned carts before that point will not be recovered.

What if a user has more than one item in their cart? Do I need to edit the email template to include additional dynamic image blocks?
No, you don't need to add extra dynamic image blocks. The email template will automatically display all items left in the cart, regardless of the number.

How can I test the abandoned cart email?
Use the Test Email function in the email editor to send a test email to yourself. Note that since there are no actual products left in the cart during testing, the product images may not appear.
For a more accurate preview, add a product to your cart, proceed through the checkout process, and then abandon the cart. Make sure to enter your email address during checkout to ensure that the abandoned cart email can be triggered and sent to you. This method will allow you to see how the email appears with actual product details and images.

Do I need to disable Shopify's abandoned cart email
If you are using Shopify's Abandoned Cart email, make sure to disable it before activating your Abandon Cart flow in Pop Convert. Failure to do so could result in duplicate emails being sent to customers.

Do your abandoned cart emails include both abandoned carts and abandoned checkouts?
Yes, our abandoned cart emails cover both abandoned carts and abandoned checkouts. As long as we capture the customer’s email address, they’ll receive a reminder email—whether they left items in their cart or began checkout but didn’t complete their purchase.
