Activating Pop Convert on your Shopify theme

To use Pop Convert and launch popups, bars, or other campaigns on your Shopify store, you need to enable the Pop Convert App Embed on your theme.

What’s an app embed

App embeds are Shopify’s way of allowing apps to display visual elements on your storefront—like popups or smart bars—without altering your theme files directly. In most cases, this happens automatically right after installation. But if it’s not, you can easily switch it on manually in your theme settings.

How to check if Pop Convert is active

Pop Convert is usually turned on automatically as soon as the app is installed, so most users won’t need to do anything. But in some cases, if the embed isn't active, you’ll see a message inside Pop Convert asking you to enable it. Click “Enable”, and Shopify will take you to your theme’s app embed section.

Prefer to turn it on manually? Here’s how:

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes
2. Find your current theme and click Customize
3. In the theme editor, click the App Embeds icon on the left panel
4. Scroll down and locate Pop Convert
5. Switch the toggle to the on position
6. Click Save to confirm your changes

Enabling Pop Convert on an unpublished theme

If you're working on a draft or unpublished theme, you can enable Pop Convert there too. Just follow the same steps above, but be sure to click Customize next to the theme you’re editing. Once you activate and save the embed, Pop Convert will work on that version as well.

Can I enable Pop Convert on more than one theme?

Yes! You’re free to activate Pop Convert on multiple themes. Just keep in mind that the same campaigns will appear across all themes where the embed is turned on.
