A/B Testing

What is A/B testing?

A/B testing is a method used to compare two versions of a popup to determine which one performs better. You can measure which variation drives more conversions, engagement, or desired actions by showing different versions. Pop Convert makes A/B testing simple and effective, helping you optimize your marketing strategies.

Why Use A/B Testing?

  • Optimize Performance: Identify which popup design or offer resonates best with your audience.
  • Increase Engagement: Test different visuals, texts, and calls-to-action to maximize visitor interaction.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Use real insights to improve your conversion rates.
  • Save Time: Focus your efforts on the most effective design or offer.

How to set up A/B testing in Pop Convert

How to set up A/B testing

  1. Create two variations of a popup
Design two versions of the popup you want to test. Each version should have one distinct difference (e.g., headline, CTA, or image) to compare performance effectively.
  2. Activate A/B testing
  • Go to the Popups section and click on A/B Testing.
  • Select Create a Test to begin setting up your test.
  • Add a descriptive title for your A/B test to help identify it later.
  • Select the campaigns (popup variations) you want to compare. By default, traffic will be evenly split between the two versions (50%-50%). This ensures that both variations get an equal chance to perform and provides reliable comparison data.
  • Click Create
  1. Launch your test. Publish the A/B test by activating both variations.
  2. Monitor results. Review metrics such as views, clicks, and leads collected for each version.

Tips for effective A/B testing

  • Test one element at a time. Focus on a single variable (e.g., headline, CTA, or image) to pinpoint what drives the change.
  • Run tests long enough. Ensure your test collects enough data for reliable insights.
